- Bleeding or pus discharge from rectum, itching in rectum.
- Pain in eyes, pus discharge from eyes and light sensitivity
- Sore throat and swollen of lymph nodes in the neck.
- Pain and swelling in joints.
Diagnosis
- A urine based test to detect DNA of the bacteria using PCR method , also called as NAAT is a very sensitive technique to detect gonorrhea. The other option is to take a swab from the urethra in males and vagina in female and culture the bacteria.
