What factors increase the risk?

Having sex with multiple partners increases the risk of getting HIV or other STD infections. Furthermore, if you do not know your partner or is a casual partner, or if the intercourse happened in a hookup place, the risk gets even higher. Having skin or mucosal injuries also increase the risk.
