LGBTQ Counselling

Mental health services for the LGBTQ community is the latest intervention under this project. The rate of mental health disorders in the community is at least four times higher than the national average. There are thousands of community members with depression and anxiety disorders who suffer in silence every day. This service aims to provide online counselling to LGBTQ persons and LGBTQ couples by healthcare professionals, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and mental health counsellors. The mental health experts are LGBTQ friendly and are very sensitive to the needs of the community. We also provide help to LGBTQ persons with gender dysphoria, those who need help with SRS or need family counselling. The other ongoing objectives of the project are as below

To enable members of the community to find suitable jobs in the formal sector, the project

• Offers a foundation course focussing on personality and skill development
• Supports the educational, career enhancement and technical-skill development pursuits of members of the community
• Helps budding entrepreneurs build and strengthen their business plans
• Builds respectful and inclusive workspaces through sensitisations and other workshops/events.
• Works towards building a larger socio-systemic support for LGBTIAQ+ persons

The project strives to build spaces that provide equal opportunities to all irrespective of their gender identity and sexual orientation.

We believe that face to face and online counseling by LGBTQ friendly mental health experts to help overcome depression and anxiety disorders in the community will create a positive impact in their lives.
